In June 2018, Calgary City Council approved a new economic strategy for the city - Calgary in the New Economy. This strategy states: “In a fast-changing world, talent—or human capital—is the key to unlocking long-term economic growth. Being Canada’s leading destination for talent is critical to Calgary building a robust pipeline of talent for continued economic prosperity”.
For this collaborative project, our team was tasked with developing a talent retention analysis, talent retention global benchmarking, and a talent retention plan for Calgary Economic Development (CED). We were also required to create a cause & effect diagram outlining factors that contribute to an 18-24-year-old choosing to "purchase" Calgary as a city to live, work, and thrive in. Lastly, we conducted a detailed citizen’s journey map for an 18-24-year-old to identify potential areas of risk and opportunities for enhancement.
My primary role was heavily focused on cause & effect factors, citizen`s journey mapping, as well as I got an opportunity to take one of the two designer roles of this project. This role involved the design of the report, visual communication, and assets, as well as the development and design of the maps.
